How far is it from Hue to Phong Nha – Ke Bang?
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is one of the outstanding tourist attractions of Quang Binh, 50km northwest of Dong Hoi city. Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park has been recognized by Unesco as a world natural heritage with hundreds of rare and precious plant and animal species, many of which are listed in the Vietnam Red Book. This place is also famous for the world’s most majestic cave system such as Son Doong cave, En cave, Dark cave, etc.
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is about 200km north of Hue. Traveling between Hue and Phong Nha is quite convenient because you can choose to take the train or take a bus or book a private car. If you go by train, you will have to transfer from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha. If you take a bus, you can stop in Phong Nha without transferring, so this is the most convenient and economical means of transport.
From Hue to Phong Nha – Ke Bang by train
Trains run through most of the coastal provinces throughout Vietnam and traveling by train is a wonderful travel experience. You should choose to take the night train, soft bed ticket or hard bed to have the most comfortable trip. The train will stop at Dong Hoi station, then you will have to continue moving to Phong Nha. Danang Private Car offers Hue to Phong Nha by Car; you can leave any time you like. And it’s not like bus or train goes direct. Hue to Phong Nha by Car takes about 5 – 6 hours transfer. On the way from Hue to Phong Nha by car, you can stop by Hien Luong Bridge without surcharge. You also can stop to visit Vinh Moc Tunnels.

Hue to Phong Nha, Quang Binh by bus
If you go from Hue to Phong Nha by bus, you can catch Hung Thanh bus at 49 Chu Van An, Hue, departure time from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. The bus will stop at Phong Nha around 9am to 9:30pm. You can also choose to take the Tan Nhat bus , which departs from 1A Hung Vuong Hue at 07:00AM and arrives in Phong Nha around 11:00AM.
If you want to go from Phong Nha to Hue by bus, you can take the Hung Thanh bus which departs at 4:30 am from Café Capture and arrives in Hue at 8 am to 9 am. There is also a Hung Thanh bus that leaves Phong Nha at 7am at Café Capture or a Camel bus that leaves Phong Nha between 7am and 7:30am.
How to buy bus tickets from Hanoi to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park ?
You can choose one of two ways to buy tickets:
Buy bus tickets directly:
You can go to the Southern bus station, or the bus office in Hue of the airlines and buy tickets directly. However, this is quite inconvenient because you will have to move to the bus station by yourself and may have to wait a long time, not catch a satisfactory bus or be yelled at at a high price. To avoid that, you can book a bus ticket through the reception at your place of residence, or call the garage directly to book, so it will be faster and more convenient.
Book bus tickets online or through a reputable agent:
There are many convenient booking websites such as vexere, 12go.asia, saodieu.vn, etc. You can visit the website, enter the departure point, destination and departure date to choose the desired bus.
